SHEILLAH MATSVIMBO - TECHNICAL APPLICATIONS INTERN
I am Sheillah Matsvimbo currently in my final year of study in Bachelor of Computer Sciences and Information Systems at Monash University.
I am a girl with many talents and I believe that I can do anything to achieve what I want. I see myself as someone who is intelligent, goal oriented, dedicated, creative thinker, flexible, innovative, good hearted, patient, and self-motivated to mention a few. I believe in building a real sense of achievement and I build this by gaining confidence. Self-confidence is one of the qualities I have for I know that self-confidence is the key to success. I also love to make a difference in other people’s lives and have a real and valuable positive influence on children, communities and society in general. I do not quit easily and I am a hard worker.
Currently, I am a Technical Applications Intern at Burnette Associates Ltd. I started the internship in April, 2017. Burnette Associates is an innovative provider of technology solutions in sub-Saharan Africa. Above all, it provides advice for wealth management, hedge fund, and asset management firms in Sub-Saharan Africa. I joined Burnette Associates because I wanted to gain new skills and promote my personal and professional growth. I wanted to utilize my skills and experience in computer science and information systems to enhance organizational effectiveness as well as its technical knowledge base. I also wanted to challenge myself doing something different for I believe there is nothing I can’t do as long I am given the chance to do it. I also joined because I have a passion for investment. I believe in taking risks by challenging myself to try something different, achieve personal goals, practice using my skills and discover my hidden talents that may change my view on my self-worth and professionalism.
By the end of the internship I aim to achieve Leadership, adaptability, Time management, Communication, working as part of a team and improving my social skill. I want to gain an insight into the product, money, labour and foreign exchange markets, develop skills in the application of economic principles to wider social issues. I also want to gain knowledge and understanding of economy as at large. I aim to increase my ability in achieving optimal solutions using critical and innovative thinking.
Lastly, I love experimenting and analysing so much as a chess player, I believe that I do not run out of moves meaning I think outside the box. World has no limits, so I am not afraid to go beyond my abilities.
My future objectives involve growing with a company where I can continue to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and contribute as much incentive as I can. I also plan on enhancing my skills and continuing my involvement in workplaces.
